NLP - 3 Qualities You Need to Develop to Break Any Negative Habit
Habits are programs. They are learned behaviors that are repeated over and over until they become subconscious or second nature.
Habits took a long time to form, and commitment on your part is needed in order to break the habit, just like you subconsciously committed to make your negative habit your best friend, because of some secondary benefits.
Here are 3 qualities that you need to develop to successfully break any habit.
1. Develop a vision and set goals. What do you really want? Develop a sense of vision of what you desire. Then set measurable goals. Goal Setting involves setting specific, measurable and time targeted objectives. Set a goal for a week, reward yourself if you reached it and begin this process again.
2. Develop Discipline. Self-discipline is the capability to exercise control over your emotions or behavior. Alfred Tennyson said about self-discipline: "Self-reverence, self-knowledge, self-control. These three alone lead to sovereign power", with "self-control" meaning self-discipline.
3. Develop Persistence. Napoleon Hill spent 25 years of his life to study men of achievement. Actually, Mr Carnegie, a successful business man, challenged him to write a book on exceedingly wealthy men whom he carefully analyzed over this long period of years. After analyzed thousands of men, both successful and unsuccessful, he reported that there is one trait of character that makes the difference: this trait of character is persistence. In other words, if you dont hold the compelling image of your vision in your mind and if you are not persistent, you will fail.
